About MoragaTri
Thank you to all of the athletes, volunteers, sponsors and community supporters that have made the Moraga Treeline Triathlon the premiere sprint distance triathlon in the San Francisco area. The fifth annual event will be held Saturday, April 23, 2011 and we expect to sell out the 300 athlete capacity thanks to the growing awareness in the Lamorinda area. Pre-registration will begin December 2010.
The town of Moraga, coupled with the Soda Aquatic Center and Campolindo H.S. campus, make the Moraga TreeLine Triathlon the ideal venue for the beginning triathlete as well as the more advance competitor. The swim is a challenging 400 meter sprint, followed by a 22 Km bike ride (about 13 miles) winding thru a scenic redwood forest. The event culminates with a 5 K (3.1mile) run thru the Campolindo subdivision before finishing with a lap around the Campolindo Track and a finish in front of the grandstand.

Starting Line and Race Route
All athletes must be checked in and meet inside the Soda Aquatic Center at the specified time. The weather may be cool, so we suggest you wear warm clothing prior to the swim. Place warm ups in the Race Packet Bag and affix the label provided on the outside of your bag with your race number written on the label. The bags will be lined up inside the Soda Aquatic Center for you to pick up after the race.
The first swimmer will start at a specified time, followed by one person every 10 seconds. Swimmers can wear warm clothing while they wait on the pool deck. Swimmers enter the pool from the northeast corner. Each swimmer will swim down the first lane, then cross under the lane divider and swim back in lane 2. At the end of lane 2, swimmer crosses again under divider and swims up lane 3, repeating for all 8 lanes.
Participants will then exit the pool at the southeast corner and jog the short distance to the transition area located in parking lot behind the Performing Arts Center.
In the transition area, participants will grab their gear and bike and head out for a 14 mile ride. There will be no water stations on the bike course, so be sure to bring your own supply to compliment your ride.
Upon returning to the transition area, participants will leave their bike and gear in the same spot and head out on a 5 k run thru a challenging residential course. A gradual grade on the front half of the run will provide the challenge while the downward slope on the last leg will help rejuvenate runners before entering the Campolindo Stadium. The last 300 meters will be looping counter clockwise around the football field and finishing in front of the Camplindo Grandstand.
Awards Celebration
The Town of Moraga, Village Associates Real Estate and our sponsors will host an awards ceremony and celebration with food and music after the race on April 24, 2010. Awards will be presented to the top finishers in each category. Join us as we celebrate your victory with friends and fellow athletes!
